NATIONAL (VFB) — Veterans and Active Duty military members support Bernie Sanders over his establishment opponent Hillary Clinton by a nearly 2 to 1 margin, according to an unscientific Military Times poll released earlier this month.

Clinton, by contrast, received nearly as much (or as little) military support as Marco Rubio, who has since dropped from the race.
Prior to the pro-Bernie military poll, FEC filings revealed that Sanders’ top contributors are employed by the U.S. Army, Navy (Marines), and Air Force.
It isn’t just the military who wants Bernie Sanders to be their next Commander-in-Chief. According to Reuters poll released last week, a plurality of Americans also trust Sanders the most to lead our Armed Forces.

Not only do Americans and the troops themselves prefer Bernie Sanders, but high profile Veterans like Rep. Tulsi Gabbard are now sounding off about the Vermont Senator’s strong foreign policy record, including his 2002 stand against the Iraq war.

Clinton, who received the same exact intelligence briefings, instead voted to authorize the Iraq war. Only last year, during this, her second campaign for President, did Clinton concede her error in foreign policy judgment, saying she “made a mistake, plain and simple.”

Although Clinton finally admitted the Iraq vote was a “mistake,” she has never once apologized to the tens of thousands of Veterans or their families for the untold harm that resulted from her failed judgment, a fact not overlooked Representative Gabbard.
The Sanders campaign just released an incredible new video featuring Rep. Gabbard called “The Cost of War.”
What really matters here is Clinton’s poor judgment that has already gotten thousands of Americans troops killed.
A second Clinton Presidency would almost certainly be as hawkish if not more than the first Clinton Presidency, whereas a Bernie Sanders Presidency would halt unnecessary conflicts.

With the recent death of a U.S. Marine in Iraq and the announcement of increased combat roles for U.S. troops in the region, after 13 years of perpetual war these issues are more relevant than ever.

We don’t need another war hawk with poor judgment in the White House. We need a President who honors and respects the sacrifices of the men and women in uniform, one who has and will fight for our proper care when we come home from war.
According to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, an Iraq Veteran, Bernie Sanders “is the only person running for president who has the intelligence, foresight and good judgment to make sound decisions when it comes to the issue of war and peace.”
That is why military members and Veterans are lining up behind Bernie Sanders.
If you think it's too expensive to take care of veterans, don't send them to war.https://t.co/XImYimD2uw

Planes and tanks and guns are a cost of war. So is taking care of the men and women who use those weapons and fight our battles.
— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) January 25, 2016
The cost of war continues until the last veteran receives the care and benefits that he or she has earned on the battlefield.

The best way to ‘Support the Troops’ is by listening to their experiences, and by enabling them to choose their own Commander-in-Chief. Overwhelmingly, American troops choose Bernie Sanders. Are you listening?
