DUBLIN (April 29, 2017) — Tickets to see Bernie Sanders at the Dalkey Book Festival in Dublin, Ireland sold out in under 5 minutes, at one point the event’s website crashed due to the sheer volume of users trying to access the site.

According to reports, the high demand to see and hear our United States Senator rivals that of top Grammy award-winning artists, “Over 2,000 of the tickets were snapped up just as quick as Ed Sheeran’s 3Arena gigs this year, which were also gone in minutes.”

Sanders’ immense popularity on the Emerald Isle comes as no surprise.

As the Mayor of Burlington, in 1981 he wrote British PM Margaret Thatcher calling on her to end the “abuse, humiliation and degrading treatment” of IRA prisoners who were on hunger strike.

The 2016 Presidential candidate recently topped polls as the most popular political figure in America, “no other Democrat comes close to matching Sanders’s popularity.”

Troublesome, however, that same poll shows Americans view Donald Trump more favorably than the Democratic Party!

“The Democratic Party has a favorability rating 11 points lower than Pence, nine points lower than Trump, and even one point lower than the GOP.”

So with all due respect, to the Democrats:

Stop losing to Donald Trump! Stop losing, period! It’s time to earn back the public trust you’ve squandered and the many public seats you’ve lost. It’s time to let the most popular, hard-working progressive in America and the world take the lead and help bring new voices to the party.

It’s time for Bernie Sanders.
