Domestic Policy- Education

  • We support tuition & fee free college.
  • We support legislation that bans federal education funds from being used in the privatization of primary/secondary public schools.

Domestic Policy- Reforming Our Electoral System

  • We support a Constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
  • We support legislation to make election day a federal holiday.
  • We support legislation to reform our campaign finance system.
  • We support a ban on campaign donations from military industrial complex armament manufacturers.
  • We support legislation to secure our election infrastructure.
  • We support legislation that require state governments to automatically register eligible voters.
  • We support legislation to reform the redistricting process.
  • We support legislation that restores voting rights to all current and formerly incarcerated persons who had them stripped due to a criminal conviction.
  • We support legislation to restore the Voting Rights Act, and to end the disenfranchisement of citizens.

Domestic- Criminal Justice Reform

  • We Support steps towards restorative forms of justice and an end to the carceral state.
  • We support legislation decriminalizing drug possession and treating addiction as a mental health issue.
  • We support the federal de-scheduling of Marijuana.
  • We support the legalization of marijuana at the state level.
  • We support banning the use of private prisons by federal, state, & local governments.
  • We support federal minimum wage for all prison labor.
  • We support legislation to ban the use of a check box on job applications that asks if applicants have a criminal record on hiring applications.
  • We support a ban on military equipment transfers from DOD to state & local law enforcement under the 1033 program.
  • We support common sense gun safety laws.

Domestic Policy- Support For the Working Class

  • We oppose right-to-work laws.
  • We support raising the federal minimum wage to $15.
  • We support legislation creating federal fair scheduling laws.
  • We support legislation mandating paid medical and family leave, paid sick time and paid vacation time.
  • We support legislation to erase the gender, & race wage gap.
  • We support legislation that funds and creates job training/community reinvestment programs to assist communities heavily engaged in fossil fuel sector activities as the world transitions away from fossil fuels.

Domestic Policy- Combating Climate Change

  • We support legislation transitioning the U.S. to 100% renewable energy by 2035.
  • We support legislation to ban fossil fuel exploration and extraction in U.S. territorial waters.
  • We support legislation to create grants to assist states, and local municipalities in transitioning from fossil fuels, to renewable sources of energy.
  • We Oppose the Keystone Pipeline, Dakota Access Pipeline, Bayou Bridge Pipeline, the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, Mountain Valley Pipeline, and the Aliso Canyon Oil Field.
  • We support legislation that would prohibit the sale or transfer or public lands administered by DOI.

Domestic Policy- Restoring 4th Amendment Protections

  • We support legislation to require the government in criminal cases to seek a warrant based on probable cause before searching foreign intelligence surveillance data for information about Americans.
  • We support legislation to require a criminal conviction for all civil forfeiture cases.

Domestic Policy- Immigration Reform

  • We support comprehensive immigration reform.
  • We support a clean “DREAM ACT”.
  • We support legislation that abolishes Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
  • We support legislation to end the deportation of U.S. military veterans.
  • We support legislation to immediately repatriate all U.S. veterans who have been departed.
  • We support legislation to provide legal assistance to non-citizen veterans, service members, and their families.

Armed Services Policy- Reform the Discharge Process

  • We support legislation to reform the military discharge process, to prevent veterans from being wrongfully discharged due to misconduct related to service connected disabilities, and to help veterans remedy improper records.
  • We support legislation to prevent military sexual assault victims from being wrongfully discharged and help veterans remedy improper records.  

Armed Services Policy- Justice for Survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST)

  • We support legislation to reform the military justice system, &  Department of Defense procedures for reporting, investigating, & seeking justice in the case of military sexual assault.

Armed Services Policy- Deported Veterans

  • We support legislation that expands, funds, and mandates citizenship services for non-citizen service members & their families to assist them in applying for and obtaining U.S. citizenship as soon as they enter the service.

Armed Services Policy-Support for LGBT Service Members

  • We support expanding legal protections for LGBT service members.
  • We oppose President Trump’s attempt to ban  transgender persons from serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Armed Services Policy- Close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp

  • We support legislation that closes the prison at Guantanamo Bay and bans the Department of Defense funds from being used to open, or maintain similar facilities in the future.

Foreign Policy- Ending America’s Wars

  • We support legislation to rescind the 9/11 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (S.J.Res. 23) and to withdraw all government forces & contractors currently deployed & operating under the 9/11 AUMF.
  • We support legislation to repeal the Iraq Authorization for the Use of Military Force (H.J.Res. 114) & to withdraw all government forces & contractors currently deployed & operating under the Iraq AUMF.  
  • We support legislation to immediately withdraw U.S. govt forces and contractors from Syria.
  • We support legislation to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities in the Republic of Yemen that have not been authorized by Congress. (S.J.Res 54)
  • We support legislation to ban military arms sales to states that have been identified as being in violation of U.N. human rights conventions.  
  • We support ending covert train & equip (T/E) programs. Example: CIA program that trained/equipped Osama Bin Laden during the Soviet war in Afghanistan.

Foreign Policy End Human rights Abuses

  • We support legislation that closes the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
  • We support legislation to end, and ban arms sales to states that have been identified as being in violation of U.N. human rights conventions.
  • We support federal legislation to officially acknowledge the Armenian Genocide, and to end arms sales to all countries that refuse to do so.
  • We support federal legislation to ban arms sales to any country that has a majority party in power that denies the Holocaust occurred.
  • We support legislation to place lifetime government service/employment bans on any individual who was involved in the facilitation, operation, and cover up of the CIA rendition and torture program authorized by President George W. Bush following 9/11.
  • We support legislation to place lifetime government contracting bans on any corporation or private entity that was involved in the facilitation, operation, and cover up of the CIA rendition and torture program authorized by President George W. Bush following 9/11.

Foreign Policy- Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Reforms

  • We support legislation to end the warrantless wiretapping of U.S. citizens under Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act.

Veterans Affairs Policy (VA)- Fight Privatization of Veterans Affairs

  • We are opposed to the privatization of any branch of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • We are opposed to the Koch Brothers group “Concerned Veterans of America” and their privatization agenda.

Veterans Affairs policy (VA)- Expanding Healthcare Services

  • We support legislation to expand funding to the VA so that the department can recruit personnel to fill the 30,000 positions that are currently unfilled.
  • We support legislation that expands funding for medical therapies and treatments for toxic exposures related to military service.
  • We support legislation that increases funding to VA so that current caregiver benefits can be expanded to veterans of all eras.
  • We support legislation that expands VA funding so that full dental coverage can be added to the services included in veterans health benefits.
  • We support legislation that expands funding for healthcare services for women veterans.
  • We support legislation that expands funding for healthcare services for LGBT veterans.

Veterans Affairs Policy (VA)- Homeless Veterans

  • We support legislation to expand funding for the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program to an extent that will decrease veteran homelessness 90% by 2022.

Veterans Affairs Policy (VA)- Incarcerated Veterans

  • We support legislation mandating federal funding for veterans treatment courts.
  • We support legislation to restore full payment of VA disability compensation to veterans while incarcerated.

Veterans Affairs Policy (VA)- Research

  • We support legislation that funds, and expands mental health studies conducted by VA.  
  • We support legislation that funds, & mandates that VA conduct research into the efficacy of Medical Marijuana for treating common service connected disabilities.
  • We support legislation that expands funding for programs that conduct toxic exposures research.
  • We support legislation to immediately end all medical testing on dogs being conducted by the VA.

Reform The Democratic Party  

  • We support the adoption of the Democratic Party Unity Reform Commission recommendations.
  • We support banning Superdelegates.
  • We support a ban on corporate political action committee donations to the party.
  • We support a ban on registered, federal corporate lobbyists from serving as DNC chair-appointed, at-large members.
