Tulsi Gabbard Slams “Sellout” Trump for Saudia Arabia Weapons Deal Hypocrisy

WASHINGTON (May 21, 2017) — Tulsi Gabbard slammed Donald Trump repeatedly over the weekend for signing a $460 billion dollar weapons deal with Saudi Arabia, who Trump previously called a sponsor of terrorism.

Using the President’s own words, Gabbard said “In 2011, Trump says Saudi is “the world’s biggest funder of terrorism.” But yesterday signs massive arms deal. What happened?”

On Saturday, the Hawaii Congresswoman ripped Trump for the deal, saying it would “prolong and complicate our fight against terrorism [by] ensuring another decade of unjust wars in the MidEast.”

The Army Major called Trump to the mat for failing “to acknowledge Saudi Arabia remains the world’s largest sponsor of terror & Wahhabi Salafist ideology fueling al Qaeda/ISIS.”

She also called out a new “counter-terrorism center” constructed by the Saudis as a “farce” since “Saudi spends billions to spread extremist ideology.”

Earlier this year, Rep. Gabbard introduced the “Stop Arming Terrorists Act” to prohibit the U.S. Government from using taxpayer dollars to provide weapons, cash, intelligence, or any support to al-Qaeda, ISIS and other terrorist groups.

The bill, recently introduced in the Senate by Rand Paul, would also prohibit our government from funneling money and weapons through other countries who directly or indirectly support terrorists.
