More Women Lawmakers Endorse Bernie Sanders for President

NATIONAL VFB (Feb. 24, 2019) — Endorsements for Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders continue to roll in. This morning, Rep. Emily Sirota (CO-9) announced her endorsement of Sanders on social media, saying “I’m proud to endorse Bernie Sanders for President,” and “We need this progressive champion in the White House.”

Yesterday, Ohio State Representative Tara Samples also publicly announced her support of Sanders, adding that she was excited about the diversity of his campaign staff. Earlier in the week, Sanders announced his campaign co-chairs, former State Rep. Nina Turner, San Juan Mayor Carmen Cruz, Rep. Ro Khanna, and Ben Cohen of the Ice Cream duo, Ben and Jerry’s.

Last week following his announcement, Sanders quickly scored endorsements from fellow Vermont lawmakers, Senator Patrick Leahy and Rep. Peter Welch, as well as Progressive Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna.
